Renault 5 Alpine - Price Guide (Last Revision Feb 09)

Please note: Values given below are for RHD cars unless stated. LHD values are considerably higher (50%-100%) due to easy repatriation.

Facts:

Known as the Gordini in the UK due to trademark problems with the Alpine name. Some cars were later badged Alpine by their owners.

Last cars were badged Le Car 2 Turbo but mechanically similar, with the addition of a knock sensor and a more basic interior.

Available in 3 performance versions Gordini (Alpine), Gordini Turbo (Alpine Turbo) , Le Car 2 Turbo (Laureate)

There were also 2 two competition variants the 5 Alpine Coupe (Cup) and 5 Alpine Turbo Coupe (Cup) available in LHD only.

Figures:

Up to £750            Fair Condition. Usually with no MOT. A project car for complete restoration. Probably incomplete.

£750 -  £1500      Average condition cars with some MOT, useable but possibly requiring some mechanical attention or paintwork

£1500 - £3000     Good useable cars with recent MOT, requiring little or no immediate maintenance but probably requiring some cosmetic attention.

£3000 - £4000     Very good cars with new MOT. No major mechanical or noticeable cosmetic faults.

£4000 - £5000     The very best ultra low mileage or restored examples. Concours condition cars

Ex works or competition cars with history will command a premium

£5000 - £10000    5 Alpine Cup (LHD Only). Watch out for replicas which are only worth as much as the standard cars above.
