Dave what torque figures did you get?

I have to be in Yorkshire some time this month- are you planning to head to RATS on the 15th? I might try to tie in the two...

It also has been noted on this forum that occasionally the speedo needle flies around to full scale and stays there, that in itself is not too bad, but as a consequence the motor that makes the needle fly up, also drives the odometer, now if this happens say, when you are working on the car with the ign on for a long time, if you viewed the odometer, it would be racking up the milage


Can confirm the Panhenrich definitely does that sometimes which means that the already low mileage is genuinely even lower. Prospective buyers please note. :P

A quick bit of math shows that John would either have to driven or worked on the car with the igntion on for 94 hours without noticing the problem to rack up that sort of mileage.

However after lengthy investigation John discovered a completely different problem with Dave's car. I'll leave him to reveal :lol:

Hey there, finally got a spare moment to post on here. Its not really a big secret or anything I just don't have the time to post regularly. Anyways the result was what I was asked to aim for- 300bhp at under 1 bar of boost. It made it easily, 308bhp at 14psi.

The engine (longblock) is completely standard and untouched just how it left the factory. Dave has the option of running up to 25psi on these turbos which should net him a sizeable chunk more power if he desires. For now though the car is very well behaved with a nice amount of power and torque. We were on the rollers for 5 hours and made numerous pulls and left the car running the whole time, temps were perfect and the car behaved well. The only problem was the bumper deforming even more that it was from the temporary exhaust tips, luckily easily rectified!

Regarding the mysterious mileage increase, thank you for the possible electrical issues highlighted (Jon C is the Master! I'm loving your input on the A610 cutting out problems on MVS' thread!) but this was more a memory issue! Current mileage- 70432.

Can anybody decipher this to explain to me how this stacks up to Jon 2.5?
Apart from the lower Hp.
Just interested.
Theoretically how would they compare head to head?

I suspect that the driving characteristics are going to be mainly down to the speed that the turbos spool up.

What have you set your rev limit to btw?

Needle jumping on switching off the ign....... no, have never experienced that.... an interesting one anyway, but there are so many potential weaknesses (dry joints :lol: ) that give trouble in the speedo that I would go through all the points I have suggested in the Members only section and see if the problem is cured..... even if it is not, at least those points will have been eliminated.
