Official invite to Prescott 27th May 2007

Postby peterg » Fri Jan 12, 2007 2:13 pm

We have had an official invite to attend the Nat. B hillclimb meeting on May 27th at Prescott (home of the Bugatti OC). They are having a 'French Marques' event. It has an RSVP slip so at least one person will need to commit to it if I am to say yes....or even Yhessssssssss!
It doesnt say but I suspect they will probably run an Alpine class....a chance to kick the ass of all those A110s out there!!!

Peter, I'll commit. How much and what do I need to do?
I can ask Pete Ellens if he wants to enter his A110 too.

Hey guys, I will come and offer my support. Prescott is not far from where I live in Cheltenham, I think. I've never been there but have been meaning to go. I'll put this in my diary.
Regards, Clive

I havent had anything back as yet, but as the event is in May its a little early yet.....I suspect their claims of entry forms at the end of January were a little optimistic! They should be sending me all the details at some point.

OK Folks, here it is!

Entry forms arrived this morning, Prescott Hillclimb "French Marques Day" on Sunday May27th, hosted by the World famous Bugatti Owners Club.
It is an official sprint event, under MSA rules and regs, and a great venue for all the family. Open areas, wooded area, lots of viewing and a great hillclimb. One of the countries top venues.
It is £93 entry and located at GL52 9RD, overnight camping £10, motorhomes welcome.
I will post application forms up at the weekend.
"Invited" (yes, this is an invitation only event) clubs are Bugatti OC, Citreon CC, Matra Enthusiasts CC, Peugeot Sport CC and Renault Alpine Owners Club.

I think it would be good to make this a club meet, a really great day out for the family. Bring a picnic, 2 practice runs in the morning, quiet for an hours lunch, then 2 timed runs in the afternoon. Never been to Prescott myself but I am told that they put on a good show and it is always a very well organised day.

Gentlemen,

Here is a plan of the venue

You can download an entry form from here: Page 1 & Page 2

If you want the full regs, please PM me with your address and I'll copy and send one to you.

Classes 1-5 Pre war cars 1100cc to 4000cc and over
Class 6/7 Pre 1971 Saloon/Sports cars
Class 8/9 Post 1971 Saloon/Sports cars
Class 10 Prescott Handicap challenge
Class 11 Brescia Bugatti cars
Class 12 Grand Prix Bugatti cars.

I guess 'we' are most suited to class 9, perhaps 8 for the 21s and 7 for some A110s.

This will be well worth attending even as a spectator.

We currently have 7 RAOC entrants. 4 RAOC 'Day Member' entrants to comply with the supplementary regulations and 1 BARC entrant.

So that's a total of 12 Renault & Alpine vehicles running at the moment.

We also have 4 undecided.

If you do want to take part there's still time. You need a Speed National B (Non-Race) @£34. Turn around is 15 days or (3 express but that costs ££) so still time to get your licence and your entry in before the 7th May deadline. Places are limited so be quick.

The form you need is here http://www.msauk.org/site/cms/contentVi ... tegory=656

Simon and I both have entry froms if you need them or you can download them above. I don't have any regs left but I have requested more from the BOC. Simon may have a copy.

We had hoped that Peter could still come and participate as a guest driver if David manages to repair Peter's old car in time so feel free to phone up ART and put the pressure on

Alternatively if anyone else would like to offer Peter a seat as a second driver...

Admission for spectators is £15. The entry fee of £93 includes entry for 2 so it's really equivalent to £63 for the 4 runs up the hill :D

Remember it's a French Marques Day so a Hill Climb and car show rolled into one.

Some more details are starting to filter through: http://www.bugatti.co.uk/News.htm

Can you start to post a list of spectators below so I can get an idea of numbers for any additional space required.

I'll put the provisional list of entrants up as soon as it has been approved by the BOC.

I'm hoping to spectate on Sunday, but I'm at a party in Surrey on the Saturday night so it kind of depends on how good a party it is - if it's really good I may not be conscious on Sunday.
