USA

Stephen Stringer

I have three Alpines here in the USA, a 110, a 310 V6 Group B and from what I can find out, the very first production GTA that went to a customer (vin #D50000000021). It's LHD,  red with grey interior and surprise surprise it has a fuel injected ( K jetronic ) engine.  I have sent the only pics I can find at this time, this was when I had to get the UK personal plate transferred to another car in England. The photos are of the inspection in the USA.

As soon as I find some more photos I will send them. It has a rear spoiler that I made back in 87 and I am just about to strip it down to the chassis for a rebuild / restoration.  I am torn between leaving it standard or installing a twin turbo engine that I built a couple of years ago. I found a company in the US that made some twin turbo kits for the Delorean with all the cast manifolds and intakes for the K jetronic system. (Go for the twin turbo !! Ed.)

Has any one looked at the pistons and liners for the Eagle Premier / Dodge Monaco? It’s the same PRV motor but 3ltr.

The car is fitted with a Koni kit with progressive rate springs. It is rare indeed to be able to lower a car and have it ride smoother too! The wheels are Racing Hart C2 (3 piece) from about 5 years ago. They still make the C2 model but have changed it quite a bit and doesn't look nearly this good. Setup is 16x7.0x38mm offset with 205/45 (front) and 17x9.5x45mm offset with 255/40 (rear). I originally had 275/35 on the back which really looked sweet but the size is no longer available. On the front I removed the silly 12 x1.75 stud from each hub and used 4 BMW wheel bolts that fit perfectly. For the rear I built a set of hub adapters which are bolted onto the hub with conical lug nuts. The adapters are fitted with studs for mounting the wheels. I made the tyres as flush as possible with the bodywork and it looks great! Other than that the car is completely stock and currently has about 70,000km on the odo. Car is garaged in New Hampshire (~1hr north of Boston)

The Alpine is nice, but being on two wheels is my first passion...
