..from the butcher of Sandbach 8)

Way too good to let him at it with the panel saw

Apart from the obvious in extremely good order .Bumpers have been re-painted at some point but it's flaking off in big chunks so need doing again .A/C that I'm told worked + recent work just before flammage to brakes running gear etc .All in solid order underneath and has leather :)

Plan is to pull lump ,cut in repair panel shelf and drop in replacement looms for rear .Have all these ready to go in .
Engine is OK ,it's just had a bit of a toasting on the rhs covers and looks like it was extinguished pretty quick .
Will probably drop JIL's monster lump in for a while to bed in and RR tests whilst I tart up the fire damaged one .
Will then be up for sale most likely ,catC but I really don't think that matters too much with this one as it's a minor burn and not like it's been crashed

Is the cause known- oil dripping on to the exhaust header, or fuel line let go spraying on to the header? Looks very localised over that side.

Yea dead lucky, why it's worth carrying an extinguisher... I had a couple of 2CV's and you would always see them on the hard shoulder making a convenient BBQ... paper air cooling ducts used to fall on top of the headers...

Time to resurrect this thread and crack on with it ....renamed Slumdog innit
I've got a bit of a point to prove with this and just hope it all turns out good in the end .
DaveW should be along in a bit with various wants and options but I'll take some pics once the lump is out .
It will have a couple of stable mates early next week + I have to chivvy up Juzz and find out jus how far he wants to take his .......and I'll have to plan the attack so I can get all done in stages at home .Unit will be full of 610s for the foreseeable future 8)

Lump is out and a bit of a mystery .....On draining the sump pure new Type D coolant pours out for a few seconds followed closely by the oil :?
I can't really see how it got there as yet but no matter another lump is hopefully on it's way and/or a re-build is in order .

Fire is isolated to just the shelf drivers side .

mmmmmmm Spots the A/C unit, and different exhaust....

IF you are swopping any parts.. I am on the lookout for a better exhaust than the standard one... I am having some difficulty in deciding what and where to go, to get one... I lost that stainless one Mr Law had for sale, to another..... :(

So IF you are messing about with parts etc, and have bits left over... let me know.

All bits are required so far but things may evolve .I can get you a stainless one made using that as ref if you want though ?

Engine turns freely but if you'd seen what came out  It really was pure TypeD and a lot of it ....how it got in there ? Either a cracked block/head or liner base but the sheer volume and pristine condition was suprising .
Certainly not as a result of the fire which the more I look at looks like an electrical one ...I really can't see that being the cause

Quote me happy Mr Clee.....
I definatly am going to get a stainless exhaust before long.. Would like it without too much restriction or maybe even without any silencer...
I wish I knew what was on my A610, as that sounds superb, Quiet and deep on tick over, and evil in tunnels!!
Was looking at Custom Chrome in Nuneaton, as they can add a cherry bomb to it as well???
Oh!! so many choices... Am like a child in a sweet shop.

Curiouser and curiouser said Ratty ....Now..... it's neatly folded and wedged into the oil pickup pipe ...
Add that to the almost pure Renault D that came out the sump ...I is well confused now
