peter, I am confusing you, it's not really clubmans, it is actually called "Standard Production Cars" and excludes kit type cars, replicas or 4WD cars.

last year I saw an Escort 1.4, a Seat Leon and a mini ONE amonst others in this class, so long as it's legal you can just borrow a car and you can get in, any daily driver will do.

Did you know that this is how the late great Gerry Marshall started, he was borrowing his farthers car "for a day trip ou in the country". Luckily he did not have any big scrapes to start with but I imagine he eventually had to own up. So if your mother is a hairdresser and has a little sports car, you're ok.

Yes you are!!!....Clubmans is a different thing altogether! As I said the class youre talking about must be a PPC thing, because Ive not come across it at any of the national, BRSCC, Scottish, Midland or Wigton run events. I guess its there to encourage people with totally standard cars.
Wigton do run classic car classes though...pre 75 in up to 1400 and over 1400. I actually quite fancied building a GT6 or Fiat Dino for it.......but it looked like a lot of hassle.
Now I'm buying this -

No difference between FIA and non FIA at speed events...they are only checking for legality not whose suit is the best!!!

FIA suits will be very high spec'd and for F1 type drivers etc and have a life of a couple of years, they have the manufactured date in the collar.
For sprinting we do not need to have this, non-FIA will be fine, we just need a 1 layer fire resistant suit.
