The prang was way less traumatic than the engine out I can tell you! After the prang I taped the front up and went on to set the fastest time of the day (in my class!) 8)

I suppose I should be pleased but now I've got two people wanting to come and see the spider to buy it... :(

Can't decide...

sell it buy a boat

Keep it and risk divorce... - and no boat

Sell it and buy Martyn Wares stripey A610.. dunno why. - still no boat

Just sell it and finish the GTA LeMans 24V mythical beast! Which I could still sprint I guess...

You don't worry about that. If your going to compete, you accept that. The drift team I sponsor are always having knocks, and constantly getting their panels repaired.

Hi all
It's the first visit of the BHC to Gurston this weekend, and if the weather stays reasonable there should be some quick times with all the new machinery this year.
Will let you know how I get on against the four-wheel drive brigade on Sunday night.
Happy motoring.

Well guys, first in class again :D
It only rained for the last practice on Saturday and a bit if dampness under trees this morning The class was reduced by one due to a roll cage issue and the class entered, which may affect other venues / events in the future.
So for those that compete double check the blue book for the type of class entered plus SR's and see if your car complies to the letter. (Standard production cars & Mod prod safety rules etc) Also keep a very close eye out for any rule amendments in the MSA mag. If in doubt contact the organising club or local MSA scrutineers.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO yes ! And fireing on all cylenders.

It is a reliable car or was I lucky? It has been off the road for about 5 weeks and it started 1st time after turning over for about 10 seconds.

It has a new clutch, new slave, refaced flywheel (had been badly scored by the friction plate rivets as well as some surface cracks and hot spots), cleaned box and block, new heatsleeving on clutch lines, speedo wire and TDS wires.

I might be taking it for a blast round Castle Coombe on Thursday???

Would I take the engine out on my own again, YUP. It is not that hard really, just need the space, some time and patience and a bit of lateral thinking for the tricky bits.

All stood up well for a good 45 miles of thrashing around Castle Coombe yesterday. Heavy on the brakes, tyres and fuel, but at least I know my way around it. All ready for a sprint meeting on 1st July.

Some smart cars there too, managed to droowl over a few of them.
Get into that new £1/3m Porsche, a yellow one.
A couple of Ferraris managed to T bone them selves, at speed, right infront of the crowd.
And the "1 80RA" maserati seen on TG was there too.

You can see our photographic and video efforts from the day here.

The 5 pics with "ferrari" in the name are 2MB each, so wait patiently for them to download.

I have just heard that I am up against the following at Castle Coombe on Saturday 1st July.
A couple of Impreza's, a Lancer Evo 2, a double driven Porsche 968, an E-Type Jaguar, a double driven TR7 V8, a Scimitar GTE, a Z3M Coupe a Noble M12 and a supercharged mk2 Escort.
Should be interesting........ what do you recon Mr Smith?
