The 'Ring

I was watching a repeat of the Top Gear where the bird tried to bet round the ring in a transit and it stirred up my interest again, and I was wondering, when are we planning to 'do the ring'

I suggest April or Sept/Oct to avoid the season but still hopefully have decent weather. Any other suggestions?

Yep and with all the traffic you're lucky if you achieve an 8 hour lap rather than an 8 min.

Just home, 55 miles around the M25 in 2 h 45, that is a 20mph average. 2nd time this week.
How come drivers manage to crash at that speed.
Oh actually it was only a coach on fire and a broken down lorry on the M3 today.

I hear that "In the days before cameras", it was possible to do the M25 ring in under 1 hr without getting into trouble.

If this place is good enough for the Veyron and the Enzo..... could we get some Alpines round it

And a visit to the shlumpf collection in mulhouse (well worth a day of any petrol heads life).

The weather at the ring in april can be very iffy..

i think Alpine August might be a runner. a date is to be trashed out over the next fex weeks over a lot of the black stuff at d-mots new house (warming party) ha ha ha (sorry mucker!) or maybe Amber!

19-21 looks good, hopefully less weekend tourists on-track, but who knows how many holiday makers will be there.

If you've looked at the pistonheads thread you'll have seen that their suggestion is a weekday after easter.
