Venturi wheel bearing

Postby ewan » Sat May 14, 2016 7:37 am

I need a new rear wheel bearing for my Atlantique 300. Does anyone know where to source them or who made them?

Also, does anyone have a wiring diagram? I have an electrical drain and have traced it back to a relay, but it's tricky when we don't know what relays and fuses power what items!

Pull the relay out, then try all your switches one by one, and see what does not work. ;)

I would have thought they are the same as the A610 to be honest.

Hi Ewan

Try asking Tony Boulet at Extreme Limite in Nantes, France. They are Ex-Venturi mechanics from the factory when the cars were built there until they went bust and the new owner moved production to Monaco. Extreme Limite are based at the Fay de Bretagne circuit that was built by/for Venturi as a test track, just one more reason amongst many they went bust I would wager!

The French Venturi owners pretty much use either Tony or Serge Lenoir.

Remember though he is French so how quickly he will reply is variable at best.

I have not had the noisy/failing bearing removed yet, so don't know what it looks like to compare it that from an A610. I was hoping to be able to buy a new one in advance, to enable a quicker swap.

I've sent an email to Tony B at Extreme, so fingers crossed for a reply!

Hi Ewan,
Any response from France?
I've the fuses and relays diagram in my service/owners manual. If you could let me have your email address I'll scan the pages and send them over.

Tony B was very helpful. A new bearing is on its way to me from France, for a grand total of £100 inc. delivery and VAT, which doesn't seem too bad to me.

He's also sent me wiring diagrams :up

Post up all the numbers you can find on the wheel bearing for fellow owners reference and if you can, post up the wiring diagrams :up

I forgot to post the update that the wheel bearing arrived promptly from Tony B and has now been fitted, so all is well.

I tried contacting the bearing manufacturer direct and quoted the numbers that were (just) legible on the one Tony supplied, but they couldn't find records for it on their system. And they couldn't find anything under "Venturi" either! So if I ever need another, it'll probably be just a case of getting back in touch with Tony B.
