The saga continues! My slave cylinder supplier let me down so no new cylinder. My main renault dealer (Dixon) can supply £100 but cannot guarantee a delivery date. They have never heard of repair/rebuild kits. I cannot source a second hand one from an R 25 even after ringing Specialist Renault Breakers in Accrington.
There does not appear to be a clutch specialist in East Yorkshire who could rebuild it.
I am mighty miffed, do I have to bite the bullet and order from Dixon Renault pay out 100 squids and wait for 10 days or so or does anyone have an alternative solution.
Summer is here and I am am driving around in a damned great jeep.
Autobits in Corsham (Wilts) supplied me with a slave cylinder repair kit a few years ago. There wasn't a kit listed but somehow they got a supplier to identify the parts. I got them within 24/28 hours. Their Tel No is 01249 716396.
My slave cylinder failed on me 4 weeks ago ,and in the worst possible place [middle of a roundabout ,and stuck in gear ] in the rush hour with my 8 year old in the passenger seat and my 2 year old waiting at the nursery
.
MY GOD WHAT A RUNAROUND .
Sent it straight to the garage and picked it up 10 days later at a cost of
£249 including all parts and labour ,but its done now .
the clutch feels a lot sharper now and less travel.
