Postby darrenbiggs » Sat Sep 09, 2017 10:04 am

Bit of an impromptu one, but this is on again tomorrow so I'm going to try to head over:

RiverView Café
Station Road
Forest Row

Starts officially from 12pm if anyone is interested.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

It was raining so all a bit quiet. But I met a guy called Clive who came up as soon as I parked. He used to own an R8 Gordini and was 'librarian' for the Renault owners club pre internet days.

Plus an ex Renault mechanic who was on the very early GTA training course.

That's come around quick. Another meeting this Sunday if anyone is interested?

So far BBC weather says it'll be dry but overcast. Ok Spider weather?

Popped over and had a quick look round. The usual very mixed turn out from I think a 2 stroke Swede to a balls out Ultima. Couldn't stay long but did see a GTA on the way home :up

The Alpine on the way home was me Miles. I decided on the spur of the moment to have a look around at Forrest Row too. We just missed meeting. It was the first time I've seen another Alpine on the road, other than organised events like Bicester or Macon. Nigel

Nigel so sorry I missed you on Sunday. It would have been good to catch up.
My car wasn't on top form moisture in the cap, making the car run very rough. Once home removed cap wiped away a very small amount of moisture and cleaned contacts with a soft brass brush. WD and a blast of air from my compressor and the hole lot put back on. Test drive and the car now feels as if it has a box fresh engine from the factory, pulling hard with loads of boost :D
Every time this happens I can't believe such a small fault can almost make the car almost impossible to drive. And feel as if it has a much bigger fault to sort out. Did the BMW 6 suffer this?
It wouldn't be to bad if you could get to the cap easily, but some loss of skin is a small price to pay for a new engine ;)

Sorry I didn't go last time. If I'd known I would have come along and met up.

Perhaps next one I'll check in advance what the weather's likely to be and we can be a bit more organised. It's a good little event isn't it?!
