I'm half considering it...not far for me..and a nice drive out...but it looks a bit showery on the forecasts..though the weather can change within seconds in the wilds of the surrey hills.

It's funny you should mention Ray Mears and the Surrey Hills ..I remember peeing myself laughing at an article about how to survive in the Surrey Hills..this is not a spoof...

Nowhere does it mention to call a minicab, or buy a pasty from the nearest petrol station..

If you are local, this is a great event.
Very relaxed, open paddock with some interesting cars, including a delorean, competing.
There is a Vip parking area and if you turn up in something interesting you get shown into it.
Most of the competing cars are classics with only a few modern race cars in it.
There is catering ams amusements for children too.
All for charity too.
Although it's grey, the rain should hold of until 4pm by which time all the runs should be complete.
Hope to meet some more of you later on...

Anyone going this year..it’s Sunday

Postby mettersl » Fri Aug 31, 2018 6:52 am

Hi Everyone,
The Shere hill climb is this Sunday and there are two club members on the line up...Simon Taylor, although he’s not in an alpine, something Italian, and Custard (Stuart) in his Le Mans.
I’m planning to go along too, hopefully we will see some others too.
Cheers
Lee

Well another year has passed and the Shere Hill climb is tomorrow...is anyone going or going up the hill?
Last year Simon Taylor and Custard both went up, although Simon was in some noisy Italian thing...
I’m planning to pop along..I’m my fathers Smart... :down
Hope to see some people there..

Hi Lee... just bought advance tickets an hour ago so planning to go.

Probably just a flying visit with the kids.
Phil Gardner in his Twizy is on the list..but did not see any alpines.

Hi Dave,
Sorry to have missed you...I had Sunday lunch with my parents to go to as well...
Custard there and Phil in Nicky’s TWI you going up the hill.
Amazing set of cars to see from XKss to early racers and modern things too.
Lovely weather this year.
Well worth the trip.

Late reply but Shere this year was fabulous. Excellent weather and great to see Lee and Custard there to support the climbing Twizy. Needed to grab a charge at lunchtime from a 3-pin socket on the side of a handy barn on the other side of the field, but the car was great off the line and through the corners (chicanes were too wide for the Twiz so flat chuff through all of them.....) and it was a good day overall.

Didn’t see you go up but did you lay any rubber down on the start, as I have never seen an electric car burning rubber. LOL
