Postby clee » Wed May 17, 2017 5:15 pm

Dellboy ?

Sort something would you please .There must be plenty of 'tuned' cars now that'd relish a blast down the runway .

never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.

Need about 8-10 to keep price sensible. Usually needs to be midweek.

Happy to organise. Was always a good event and I've found the race logic gear too :-)

To make up the numbers, can I bring something not Renault related? My GTA is not up for a Brunty shoot out.

I'm up for a laugh.
No doubt Jill will rock it, but it would be good to make Tony Smith change his avatar, until the V8 makes its mark.

I'd be up for it as long as it doesn't clash with anything already arranged. Hopefully bring A6TTA to defend it's title. Should be back on the road in a few weeks with a bit of luck with new MoFo turbo. Be good to get a map tweak to suit before hand though. Times to beat were 0-60 5.1, 0-100 13.0 and 1/4 mile 13.9. Be great for someone to go faster - especially if it's me :MoreSarc. Those that haven't been to Brunty should know the times you record there are considerably slower than you would get at any of the UK drag strips due to the smooth surface and its uphill. My car ran a quarter mile at Santa Pod in 12.8 at 106 the same year as that in the same tune.

Here are the full results from the session Tony is referring to:

Bruntingthorpe Results.pdf

Vmax is from a standing start at the bottom of the runway.
Vmax Flying unsurprisingly is from a rolling or flying start.

NT = Not Tested
* = True 0-60 (no rollout)
** = True 1/4 mile (no rollout)

Please note that we have measured true 0-60 and true 1/4 mile without rollout. Whilst it is convention to measure 0-60 without rollout 1/4 mile times are almost always recorded with 1 foot roll out at drag strips. For the range of performance of the vehicles tested this would equate to a reduction of approximately 0.3 seconds off the stated 1/4 mile times.
You may also be shocked to learn this was almost exactly 8 years ago.

I think I'd rather blast off in a Soyuz rocket than do 150 in most GTA/A610s ...... :thinking :crazy

A610 slightly more stable than a GTA at 150+, front goes a bit light.

Definitely interesting gauging remaining braking distance at the end of the runway, press and hope lol
