Dijon Trackday Saturday17 March 2007

Postby andyh877 » Tue Feb 06, 2007 10:27 am

with an 1100 metre long straight a legendary ex F1 cicuit..... and not expensive for the day either......

i have run with this club before it's a multimarque day so anything is allowed.

i can assist with bookings if required cheap eurotunnel crossing for club members and also assist with hotel bookings Ibis in dijon is 55 euro (£35) an night for a double room.
I've just checked the Tunnels prices out on friday and back late saturday evening......£34 inc club discount
price of trackday for a car and one driver is 157 euros which includes track breakage insurance.

TOTAL BUDGET with fuel and motorway tolls £300..... not bad seeing as a day at a half decent UK circuit will cost £200

Postby eastlmark » Mon Mar 12, 2007 10:51 pm

Fantastic day, Andy watch out for the final corners......had a makeshift chicane in to slow us down on Sunday!

These 2 taken from the V6 Passion site as I was in one of these cars, somewhere, and couldnt get this photo myself.

I dunno, supposed to be a v6 and spider only day.......

nice pics mark, i had a flick through the ones on their site, they opened the invite up to any renault sport type thing in the end because of lack of interest,

there was everything there yesterday....... what a day....a magnificent circuit, mastered the final bend..... just keep it on the limit going in and soon as poss floor it going through the 2nd part of the corner giving as much momentum as possible for max out down the straight..... 215 kmh... limit of the gears possible 230 kmh with a longer 6th cog but it's not very often gwe get a chance to use it :D we didn't get the sun like you but we has cool overcast conditions...... ideal

there was a great mix of cars.... mostly alfas of all ages and types but some exotica like a new aston.... and a brand new GT3 Rs in orange with black wheels easily the fastest beast on the day, 8) even though it's a car killer of a circuit can't wait to go there again

Glad you had a good and safe day Andy.
Not sure why ours included a few megs and the odd 182 (and even a 19?) was nice to see the GTA or whatever it was as i had not seen one on track before and it was an honour to share the track with a 5 turbo 2. not sure it was due to lack of interest as 40 vee's and 12 spiders seemed enough as far as i could tell.
Did they have the makeshift chicane in? was like passing through a width restriction at 70mph.
