GTA at Breakers

Postby BIG_MVS » Fri Nov 03, 2017 7:07 pm

Cedric's old (and Turbodogs) GTA Turbo. Such a sad end. :(

Hopefully some bits might live on in other cars. Prices look rich though...

Yep I just saw that. Sad but at least Cedric got out safely.

1500 for that lump is pretty funny.
I'm just here for the gasoline.

I am Jamie from Lowmoor Car Breakers in Wellington Somerset

I have advertised the car on Ebay, i referred to your For Sale Section for pricing, however i couldn't not find many if any of the parts i wanted to list and parts prices are not so readily available as other cars.

I have put Best Offer on all the parts, offers are invited, however the gent that offered £180 for the complete rear subframe / suspension and engine has no chance of buying it. I have heard all the stories before from customers who say "but its fire damaged i wouldn't put the part on my car" only to find out later the parts had been fitted.

As said i will openly take all sensible offers, it is not a Renault Clio so i will not take Renault Clio prices!

Kind Regards, Jamie

There's a breaker in Holland selling a complete top to toe running motor with turbo etc for 2000 Euros.

I think the melted rocker covers mean that the engine won’t have much useful in it, It’s bound to have water in the bottom too, so a few bits only will survive, an all ally engine and fire don’t mix well,
Prv engines are increasing in value, but 2-400 seems to be more the norm now without the damage.
Subframe would be more like 200-350 without the fire damage.
Hard to judge.
When I bought some smart stuff from this guy last year the bits arrived very quickly and were well packed, but they were also a decent price.

As i pointed out above i am a car breaker and just happened to purchase this car, it is hard for me to gauge prices as an outsider, i have sold burnt engines before as parts / spares or repairs from £300-800, it is a place holder more than anything which is why it has a best offer on it.

I have sold a few parts off the vehicle so far, i am fully approachable.

On another note i have a set of 4x100 Spacers with bolts from the Alpine listed at £100 delivered through Ebay

Hello Mr Breaker, thank you for the introduction, good to hear that you are open to offers, lets hope you sell lots of parts from the car. BTW, it is a water radiator and not an intercooler at the front of the car. The intercooler "was" between the rear lights.

I think i heard that "crushed" applies to the shell, to stop anyone putting the car and its identity back on the road. I dont think they can sell the bulkhead, as that is where VIN etc is normally stamped into the shell.
