Spider Silverstone auctions

Postby andyh877 » Thu May 21, 2015 12:08 pm

anyone thinking of putting their hard earned into this beware.....

chassis number and registration plate doesn't check out with Renault and it has no history and the condition of the car doesn't match the mileage.
fairly recently a dodgy spider was for sale with southern irish plates tell tale signs no rear view mirror, aftermarket steering wheel the grey part of the car had been repainted and it didn't have he spider logo on engine cover,

this car has an airbag steering wheel...... only fitted to german lhd cars so the airbag can't be connected up as there is no airbag control unit in an RHD car chassis plate doesn't look very clearly stamped either if the car has come from southern Ireland, it maybe on it's 3rd different registration plate and hard to trace anywhere.

Looks like it was "sold" for £18,800 plus buyers premium but then are you saying Andy that it didn't make it's reserve ? ( I'd guess that this was £20k )

who was the "celebrity owner" then?
never thought I would want a list but now find myself needing one just to remind me: Clio V6 230, 5 gt turbo, 5 Gordini turbo, Megane RS 300 Trophy.
