Can anyone advise the best adhesive for re-attaching. Thanks Stuart

Use Evo-Stik impact adhesive (not the waterbase version), coat the roof panel and lining and leave to dry for a few minutes then line up and press together to bond - works really well, is not messy :D and is also good for sticking engine compartment carpet trim where the glue has dried out over the years.

Stuart,

Mine came down too. It was a bit floppy in the middle and one day collapsed over my head whilst driving with window down! I completely removed it. I havent been keen on wet sticky stuff getting on the seats so my plan is to use double sided carpet tape (criss-crossed). No sticky dribbles (as Robbie Coltrane used to say in the ads).

Mine fell down as well but I decided to replace it as the foam backing had all disintegrated with age (bits of brown crumbly stuff everywhere) and I didn't think it would stay in place for very long.

Took it to a local coach trimmer who put in a nice new bit for £60 all-in. Looks fantastic - nice and clean, no droopy bits and no smoke stains from previous owner!

Yes, as Stuart D said, flat carpet tape is very good, and no risk of it happening again on hot days.

Depends on the colour of your car too. It always falls down in Black GTA's!

The darker the roof, the hotter it gets in the sun.
Blak must allow the original glue to deteriate fastest.

Just try touching a white cars roof in the sun, ice cool, lierally. That is why they are called "polar white".
