Steering Rack

Postby technics » Mon Aug 08, 2005 1:27 pm

I know this has been talked about before.

But can someone please clarify what parts are needed to refurb or make a new rack for a GTA.

Eurocarparts and German Swedish and French list lots of options, and they seem to have a lot of old parts R9, R11, R18 and so on, so surely I can construct something!!!!!!

Thanks Andy, but I've read that :-)

What I meant is, what are the part numbers or what vehicle are they off.

Like steering rack is off a Fuego, arms are off a ( whatever ), busheare off a R11 etc.....

The bush in the end of the rack is the same as the one for a Renault 16 or Peugeot 504. I have fitted one to mine, but removed the rack to fit it, so I could clean the rack properly as well. The rack is similar to a Fuego, but is not a direct fit from what I could see. The rack boots are Fuego.

There was no other wear in the rack, and it turned smoothly.
