Martin, I bought one as a spare about 3 months ago from Renault (approx £25) are you saying they hav`nt got any more, or just they are no longer made :?

they're no longer made, and haven't been for at least 2 years. I used to use them for remote door openers on the DeLoreans, buying them from the US. I was mighty surprised to pull one out of a GTA sometime later!

Still not a problem getting door solenoids from Renault tho.

No solenoids in a GTA's door mechanism, they're all actuators, and the door release actuators (as opposed to the lock ones) won't be available for much longer unless Renault or Alpine have a large stock. The problem is that there're very few actuators that come even close to the strength of those original ones, and they're right on the limit in the GTA thanks to the crap linkage. A decent heavy duty solenoid wouldn't be too difficult to retrofit though.

I bought one from Renault yesterday. Ive used universal central locking actuators tho in the past (nominally boot release actuators - about £4) which have been fine.

After owning a number of R25's over the years, I am very familiar with the electric window and central locking switches in the A610.

The GTA door actuators are made by french company Vachette

Dizzy Cap and Rotor from GSF (German Swedish French).
Cap - 921BM0070 £54
Rotor - 922BM0070 £14

Both are listed by GSF for a 1989 BMW 3.0

Both are BERU types and the Cap had the following letters and numbers printed on it;
VK 378 S GX

Orginal Cap & Rotor from Renault are Bosch with following nos. printed on it
7700 267 728
1235 522 388
GTA Turbo 1991 - Stratos blue
