Advice pleasee

Postby Mipam » Wed Mar 22, 2017 2:09 pm

I have finally decided to put my GTA turbo back on the road after sitting for 10 years or so in my garage.
I'm sure there quite a bit to sort out and I'm not mechanically competent , can any body please tell me is there an Alpine Specialist in the North East of England?
Many thanks
Mike

How far north do you mean?
First choice should probably be RATS at Langley Mill.
I don't think there's anyone further north than Lee... unless someone can enlighten me.

Hi MIke,

Yes RATS in Derby (Clee) is your man.

I'm actually in Chilton (near Ferryhill) on Tuesday next week if you are anywhere close? I could have a look what you need and give you some pointers if you want?

Cheers,

Martin

Mike there is a Renault specialist in Newcastle just behind central station, he has had GTA's and A610''s, nice bloke, worth contacting if you can't get south to RATS.

:wave

Guy in Newcastle will be Steve Barker and his dad .They are a Renault garage mainly I think .Not sure if they do the full blown restoration but he used to own a GTA and A610,heavily modded for drag racing .

I could certainly help but it will be end of Summer/Autumn before I can take any more on .Welcome to give me a call .

Nice to meet you today Mike. Lovely original GTA you have which is well worth re-commissioning. As discussed please contact Clee and get it booked into RATS. As I said I think the fact you have dry stored it under a cover has saved it. Hope to see it back on the road soon. :super

Initial poking says it's all in pretty good shape.Main fuel pump is dead and a small rear turret repair required but need to get it running first .Recommission and MOT.

Good news is that it's now running after a decade.Bad news is there is more rot than I thought with RHS sill needing work but the rest seems OK including the crossmember .
Looks like a previous repair to the front outrigger was not the best with some of the rot just being glassed over .. :hang

Nice one, shame about the bit of rot but it could have been worst if it was left outside for all those years.
