300 rear wheel bearing

Postby Martin Guard » Thu Mar 08, 2018 5:03 pm

My passenger side rear wheel bearing needs urgent replacement and is with my local garage. A simple job you might think (well I thought so!) They are not sure if the 6 bolt casing on the rear of the hub needs to be removed to facilitate the removal and refitting of the bearing. The bolts are a little difficult to remove so if they don't need to be removed......
Has anyone any experience or advice please.

PS I think the hubs may be GTA or A610.

If they are the same as a GTA, then the 6 bolts will need to be removed, often rusted in so soak them first.

Heat is the the only thing that will help, if they snap off it’s the old remove then drill and retap.
